We verify your identity in 2 main steps:
Selfie video
Liveness technology distinguishes a real person from any impersonation attempt. During the liveness check, our system captures a few photos so that our Identity Operations Specialists can perform a face match — carefully comparing your selfie with the photo on your identity document. Identity document
During registration, you will be asked to provide photos of your national identity document. If you are using a passport, capture only the biodata page. If you are using an ID card or residence permit, photograph both sides — front and back. These photos help us confirm that you are who you claim to be, allowing us to issue your qualified certificate with confidence. Our Identity Operations Specialists also check public records to verify that your identity document has not been reported as lost or stolen.
Also, you have to scan or film your identity document.
Document scanning is based on NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. The ZealiD app automatically detects whether your ID document contains an NFC chip with the data needed to generate your qualified certificate. If your document does not have an NFC chip, you will be asked to record a short video of your ID document following the on-screen pattern.
Filming your identity document helps prevent fraud by confirming that the original physical document was presented — one that carries all the security features specific to that document type.
